These two are oozing Wove & Mawwiage!

To the other side

c19-chairs2.jpg

Walking to the other side
With the Devil trying to take my mind
And my soul’s just a silhouette
On the ashes of a cigarette

Illusions never fake their lives
Trick cards fool the eyes
Carry zeros over till they add up
Bury tears in the chapters you shut

Sometimes the jail can’t chain the cell
And the rain’s too plain to tell
All alone by a barren well
Scarecrow’s only scaring himself

I’ve been digging the ground
Beneath the dust and the clouds
I see miles and miles
Of junkyard piles

I wanted hope from a grave
I wanted strength from a spade
What gives you comfort now
Might be the end of your vein

Crows are pulling at my clothes
The wind got my fingers froze
Standin’ all day, keepin’ watch
Over all the treasures we’ve lost

Sometimes the jail can’t chain the cell
And the rain’s to plain to tell
All alone by a barren well
The scarecrow’s only scaring himself

Scarecrow’s only scaring himself
Scarecrow’s only scaring himself
Scarecrow’s only scaring himself

Austin Coke Bottle2-1-3.jpg

Haven’t seen a glass Coca-Cola bottle since living in the Caribbean, so didn’t hesitate to snatch up a few when I spotted a case at a Mexican deli in Brooklyn. It’s such an elegant bottle that It just compelled me to do something creative with it. This was going to be part of a miniature (little people) series that I was working on but scrapped. Might post the rest of the photo’s here. I specifically had this person in mind when I thought up this photo, she just looks like a pixie — glad she agreed to pose for this.

Life is good!

DSC_2645-1.jpg

I bumped this song all summer, has a 90s feel to it.  I am a little bummed out that I visited the mooring field last week when it was 65 degrees out, and all the boats were tipped over, so sailing has been postponed indefinitely until next year. Life is good, however I haven’t had time to touch my camera since being cooked up in my apartment during hurricane Sandy.
Sketched a few ideas that I need to shoot but that will come in time. I’ve been inspired  a lot stangely by songs that I am currently listening too; I really love the way that my brain works, one line from a song will trigger a vivid image in my head, and i will sketch it out what I see in my little notebook before I shoot, long way to go but getting better with time. Currently caught up with a film editing course on the weekends and also working on a new website, will post soon. No worries I will also shoot soon.

Lesson Learnt

firenhand 3nd.jpg

It was simply gorgeous out for the first half of today,  seemed like everyone was out enjoying the weather and counting the fallen trees in Prospect Park,  but it was absolutely idiotic of me to go for a run knowing that I have the flu. Returning home my body temperature rose to such  a volcanic level, that even my fingernails felt like they were on fire. I was convinced that I was just simply falling asleep when I sat down on my couch, but I am  now pretty sure that I fainted. WTF was I thinking. Extremely idiotic idea that was!

I have a very sharp memory for images, numbers and faces, however I am horrible at recalling names; before I passed out I glanced at my hands while opening the door and an image that I had seen about a year ago by fame photographer David Lachapelle, it randomly popped into my head. So I took sometime to track it down after I was done my own photo, and found it thru his site, I can’t believe it was done in 1989. There’re many reasons why his photo left an impression on me, but I’ve said enough, So, here is the inspiration for this image, its the seventh photo in the Mirrors of God series.

These images formed in my head after listening to the dutty track, attached above. Haha. I really love  Nina Kraviz’s voice on this, my absolute favorite part of this track is around 3:32, there’s something so powerful and erotic in that area, when she abruptly stops talking and starts to sing, then the beat drops. Luv it!

A very Sandy morning…

untitled (1 of 1)-5.jpguntitled (1 of 1)-6.jpg

And it came to pass at the end of the 1st day of Hurricane Sandy, that Garnet opened the window of his apartment and he sent forth one of his parakeets to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; but the bird found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him, for the waters were on the face of the whole of New York City: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into his apartment and proceeded to go back to sleep!

the glow

While chowing down a delish Lobster sandwich @ MSQ Eats, I looked up and there was a massive  blanket of orange clouds crawling thru the sky, backlit by the sunset; to capture this I had to rush back to my workplace which has an awesome elevated view of the flatiron district.
